Thunder Punch Daily 78 – Mailing Lists

Today I share some thoughts I’ve been kicking around in regards to using mailing lists in your promotional engine. I can honestly say that until now, I never saw the value in them. But after a recent episode of the Spark podcast, as well as a few other news sources, I’m beginning to see how they could be useful to a freelance illustrator, comics creator, or teaching artist. Today I expand on some thoughts I threw out on Art & Story Alive! episode 91 and a recent Art & Story Extreme!! I did with Kasey Van Hise. A lot of grousing about the rush to be an expert and how I think it does little to push an art form forward.

Thunder Punch Daily 73 – Client Notes, Pt 2

Today I share some good news about a freelance job I started chronicling in TPD #71 and some thoughts as to why I think it turned out so well. My guess is that it’s at least partly because I didn’t lose my temper.

Thunder Punch Daily 72 – Designing Villains

Today I share some more thoughts and observations on the freelance gig I’ve been working on, this time in regards to designing a villain team.
